I've lived in 6 cities and this is the most absurdly awful utilities system I have encountered. More complicated than anything would ever need to be, customer service is horrible, and no matter how much or how little your ACTUAL utilities costs are, bill will be charged up 3-5 times the amount, and when asked, no explanation can seem to be found, and yet nothing changes. Love Kingston, but dealing with Kingston Utilities monthly makes me want to move somewhere else.

Just received a $540 bill from Kingstons Utilities Monopoly. Great reminder that heating my apartment to a survivable temperature is a luxury no a human right. They really get you with the miscellaneous charges.

Recently, received our bill with an offer for service line inurance. Most household insurance policies already includes this coverage. No mention or telling their customers that their home insurance policy might already include this insurance. Seems like a money grab to me. Check your household insurance policy before considering purchasing this insurance.

I had a minor sewer backup and called Utilities Kingston about it and arranged an appointment first thing this morning with their staff. They came at the specified time, put the camera through my pipes and explained everything to me and what I should do to prevent this kind of thing from happening in the future. Brad and Dion were extremely pleasant, very knowledgeable and got the job done very quickly. Everyone needs more employees like these guys.

I'd give them zero stars if I could. They are the rudest customer service I've ever encountered. They refuse to work with me and are demanding I pay the arrears I'm full. Which I cannot do. They cut off my hydro and when I called to try to make payment arrangements they hung up and sent someone to cut off the water.i am a single mother with no real family or friends that can help us. I just started a new job that I am going to lose because I need to be showered. This place needs more government oversite. They treat people terribly.

Zero understanding of customer service..Disconnected my power within my first month of moving in because I hadn’t registered with them. I said I’d received nothing in the mail in regard to the process and I wasn’t sure what to do. They elected to charge me nearly $100 to reconnect. I figured after paying $7000 in “Welcome Tax” that would at least let Kingston Utilities know I moved in. I was told the fee would get waived because it should have been communicated via mail and low and behold, the fee is on my first bill. Their customer service line has zero sympathy for their customers. I’ve lived in multiple cities over the past 12 years and this is most unwelcome I’ve ever felt. Thanks Kingston Utilities, you’re essentially dragging down the reputation of this area single handedly.
