Edmonton New Technology Society
I've been a member of ENTS intermittently for years! They offer various studios for your projects; the main ones are pottery, woodworking, metalworking, electronics and printing.Be aware that ENTS is a member driven society. We don't have staff and any and all cleaning, improvements, etc are done by the members. This means things at times can be a little messy or things may not be exactly safe (e.g. blade guard removed from the saws). That said, I find the spaces are valuable and if you're a DIYer than this is the place for you.

The Clumsy Dragon Tabletop Guild
This is something that Edmonton has been missing. There are tons of board game cafes, but this one stands out! Not only can you come in to play tabletop games, they have an incredible community built on their discord server, so you don't have to have other people coming with you to be able to enjoy the space. The other incredible feature is the Maker Space, not everyone wants to buy their own 3d printer or laser cutter, and to be able to use the ones at the Clumsy Dragon is a huge draw. Matt really knows his stuff and has been great at helping me find a few new items to make my D&D sessions more fun and more interesting. I highly recommend checking them out!

This place is great! If you are into wood, metal, electronics, sewing, 3d printing and or laser cutting, go check it out! It is a great place where projects and ideas get created. Drop by on a Thursday evening for the weekly open house. Check out their classes to learn something new.

Les Affûtés - Petite Italie
To begin, the workshop on making a skateboard was a gift I received for Christmas, and what a gift it was.I did woodworking in highschool, so I was excited when my girlfriend booked me up for a woodworking workshop on how to make a skateboard. The lesson was in French, which isn't my strongest languge, but even then the instructor was really nice and tried to make sure everyone understands, even if he had to speak English to us. He explained how to use all the tools well and it was easy to ask him questions or even about his opinion on how the skateboard is coming along. My girlfriend also managed to pay a fee to be there with me to help me with the translation part, which I think is a good service and I'm glad they offer it. Came out happy and satisfied with the board finished (needs material oil) and with all the other parts necessary to finish it (wheels, grip tape, etc). If you are looking for a well prepared workshop on woodworking, or the many other workshops the offer, don't hesitate. Book your workshop and enjoy it.
