Uzbeki restaurant

First time trying Uyghur food and it did not disappoint. We ordered the spicy chicken with hand pulled noodles, as well as the pilav, and both dishes were delicious and had great flavours. The family was also warm, friendly and offered great customer service. We will definitely return in the future.

Due to dietary limitation, we can't eat everywhere we want and we end up eating similar styles of food. This was rather a different experience for the taste and the ambience inside is very cultura and cozy! Also the portions are huge so you won't feel empty at all!

Really enjoyed the food! Pelmeny was delicious, and the sauce on the cabbage roll was really good. My husband loved his beef Stroganoff. We went on a weeknight, so didn't get to try the live entertainment. Friendly and helpful owners. A bit expensive for an average weeknight family dinner (thus the four stars not five). but Groupon helped. We will visit again for a date night, or for lunch specials.

The food served is amazing and the portions are decent. The best babaghanoush I've tried as of yet and the bread is a must have as it goes along so well with the babaghanoush.The plov is great as a meal of its own with decent amount of lamb. The chicken seemd like a brick chicken, but was still juicy. Every dish had a balance of it's own between light and heavy tasting.As we've not been here before, our server seemed to come off a bit unwelcoming at first but was pretty friendly after and provided recommendations to ensure we had an enjoyable meal.

Went here for my birthday for the first time with 20 friends. The food is absolutley amazing!!! The service was great. Owner is a great singer. Awesome atmosphere couldn't ask for a better night.

When we decided to go to this restaurant, I had no idea what to expect. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the great variety of food, interesting discussions with the owner and relatively good prices. The place is a smaller venue off 17th. We tried many of the dishes and I would recommend letting them prepare it in the manner they would eat it. We found we enjoyed all the dishes. The only dish that seemed mediocre was thus one dish where there was like 36 dumplings but it was much better after the owner recommended some of the vinegar. Overall I’m looking forward to the next opportunity to go again!

If you are looking for a new and exotic food experience this is a great place to go. It is a family business with the parents and daughter obviously from Xinjiang, although the daughter is fluent in English. They are very friendly and down to earth. My family and I have been there twice for dinner and have tried most of the dishes on the menu and they have all been very different and delightful.

It’s a very cute and cozy restaurant. It’s my first time trying Uyghur cuisine so I’m not quite sure about the “authentic taste” but I will share my general opinion about the food.Pros: There is free parking in the back of the restaurant. It’s a family own restaurant so you can see that they are trying, even thought it felt that they are under staffed.They have a small menu but I think with enough options to give you an idea of what their cuisine is about. My favourite dish was the shredded three mix salad, fair price and very good taste.The lamb was cooked properly.Cons: The lamb skewers and kabab needed a little of salt (obviously personal perception). The kabab had more onions then actually meat. And the sliced chicken is not actually sliced is shredded, had a great tasted but the chicken was a little chewy probably for overcooking it.We ordered the cucumber salad as well and to be honest nothing very special.Ps: They told us that their specialty is the Leghmen (homemade hand pulled Noodles) we didn’t have the chance to try it this time but we will probably go back to give it another chance!

The restaurant only has one waitress and she is also the front desk, so it is kind of labor shortage. Sometimes she may go to the kitchen so you have no one to serve you.The food is in good quality meat but average cooking. I told them no MSG and not sure if because of that the food does not have much taste.

Oh what an eggciting time now that Pilav central is open 7 days a week!We just love Pilav central so much we must share this for everyone to try. They are located at the heritage plaza on Macleod trail.Do you like egg salad sandwiches, if you do, then you must try these Piroshki filled with Egg and Spring Onions, it’s better than an egg salad sandwich x 100Piroshki and other traditional Russian fried filled breads have a ton of variations. This version is a straightforward vegetarian option. The combination of hard boiled egg and fresh bright herbs is delicious inside the fluffy and crispy exterior. We called while we were on the way there to pre order the Piroshki’s and so they made them fresh for us.They also have one of the best pilav in all of Calgary. This dish is a hearty traditional Uzbek dish. It's made with long grain rice, tender beef chunks, onions, and carrots.And for dessert they have an in house made fresh Napoleon cake which is sooooo soft and creamy.We also got a couple other items that got devoured before the camera could eat like the Vinaigrette salad and beef Samsa.
