A 1.5 km (1 mi) long sandy beach backed by fragile marram grass-covered dunes. Extensive sand flats exposed at low tide. Supervised swimming (July-August STC). Please use boardwalks to protect the dunes when accessing the beach. No picnic tables.

The Basin Head Day Park features a supervised beach, fisheries museum, play area, on-site concessions, washroom and shower facilities. The beach is supervised and split into two sections, divided by a channel, known locally as “the run.” The pure white sand of the area is geologically unique. Because it actually "sings" when stepped on due to its high silica content, the beach is nicknamed "the Singing Sands".

Very nice & quiet neighborhood beach. Several picnic tables and someone has added a tree swing near the picnic tables. Restrooms are clean & well maintained.

Burns Beach
Pretty little area. Used to go here all of the time when I was little with my family for a quiet get away. Waves can be VERY strong. Do not suggest letting little kids in the water here as there are lots of rocks. Almost got swept away when I was a kid

Ingonish Beach
The tides came to the beach and left with slushy sounds. Many cobblestones in the area, actually, everywhere. We lay on the stones and listened to the waves and wind along with sunshine. The graceful seabirds were diving into the ocean rapidly to catch fish. So elegant. Fun to stay and watch.

Was amazing. The water was great the beach was wounderful we spent most of the day there and was not busy. Parking isn't that bad. Not the closet but still was great to get out in the water when. It is warm out.

Willows Beach
It has a great view, and the park in front of it is a boost for those who don’t like only sand. It could use more eateries, although the only one there is good. Also, washrooms should be cleaned more constantly. The smell is unpleasant.
