Danish restaurant

A lovely restaurant with authentic Danish flair. Really lovely folks and delicious Danish food. Check menu on website as it seems to change rather frequently. They serve up food on blue and white B&G/Royal Dansk plates, similar to the ones my Danish grandmother hung on the walls of her house; a very nice touch! Service is slower than most restaurants, but it is a wonderful laid back place for a meal if you're patient and simply enjoy your time!

A decided throw back in time. Not trendy. Not fancy. Honest quality, good service and the prices are super reasonable. The food is good. We will go back as it feels so homey

Great place to try Nordic Cuisine. Try the Smørrebrød which are open sandwiches on rye bread. We ordered mostly vegetarian options which were limited but very tasty. The Swedish Potato Dumplings are delicious. The Fennel Salad is great. The Desserts are wonderful. It's a stylish restaurant, well worth visiting.

Loved it. Not too busy. Beautiful view, we had a table at the back facing out. Really unique menu and huge portions. We will be back very soon.

Nice selection of smorrebrod open-face sandwiches. Could get pricier than expected as each sandwich is about $6 and each person can probably eat 4-5.Plus, their desserts are good. The meringue cake is a must try, though a tad sweet.Service is nice, but a bit slow.Recommend a try if in the area. Worth a drive from Toronto if you're looking for something different to eat.Recently changed owners, but glad to know that the food quality and service are the same. I think the new owners are from the same family so the food tastes the same.

If was a very pleasant surprise. The inside of the place has a warm and relaxing atmosphere with some antique items displayed on the walls. The food was amazing! All home made, cooked perfectly, and tasted great! The service was quick and very friendly. We went with two adolescent children on a Thursday evening and we all found the menu to fit our needs. We went during the week and considering the limited seating I would definitely call to reserve a table during the weekend.

I went here on a date a few weeks ago. The decor and ambiance is incredible! I really liked the homey feel of the restaurant. The staff were super friendly and personable. You can really tell the food is home style with good simple ingredients. For this reason, some dishes might take longer to come out (which they give proper notice of and is expected when items are prepared for you and not in mass). The chicken soup was pretty delicious and I liked the walnut stuffing in the chicken. I thought the schnitzel was impressively crispy and the sour kraut was good. The desserts are interesting, for example the hazel nut pie is made with a lot of actual hazel nuts as opposed to Nutella or extract (is what it seemed like). Flavor-wise, it tasted like my mom was in the kitchen, which is good, but flavors I can accomplish at home. Overall I'm glad we tried it!

Beautiful causal restaurant with good quality food and nice seating, we had table outside. Tasty fresh food, good cocktails. And amazing service, our waitress Lena looked really well after us all evening. Thanks

This restaurant is a GEM!!! What an incredible meal, delightful atmosphere, and the service (Alice) was outstanding. I highly recommend The Danish Place.Items we ordered:Cranberry brie app, Cesar salad, pork tenderloin, pork schnitzel, sugar brown potatoes, Danish meringue cake. All Amazing!!!

The food was amazing as was the service. Portion sizes were great. I would definitely suggest stopping in when you're hungry. My girlfriend and I loved this place and will definitely return. Worth the drive from Red Deer
