Ballroom dance instructor

Wendy & George are simply the best dance teachers one can have! Their insightfulness, good humour, deep caring make their classes enjoyable learning experience. Over many yrs, I’ve been taking group & private lessons with them. Private lessons especially helped me leaps & bounds in becoming a dancer. As an exceptional teacher, George has an uncanny ability to understand his student’s learning style and to explain a step in a way that it is understood, while encouraging and closely monitoring progress. Everyone should dance & attend their classes even if to learn what good teachers are made of!

My partner and I have absolutely loved our classes at the DC Dance Club! We came to the studio as beginners and have had a blast learning from the different instructors. We've danced with almost all of the instructors now and each was very attentive, caring and non-judgemental as we tried our best to not trip over our feet. We both feel comfortable dancing in public now after a few short months of classes! Lessons are well priced and are very flexible to best fit around your schedule. DC Dance Club has been an absolute gem for us and we can't wait for our next class!

A fantastic place to learn to dance. I was visiting family in Toronto for a few months and wanted to learn some new styles of dancing. I found the Directors Caroline and Bee to be knowledgeable and informative and as I soon found out great dancers as well. They suggested a plan for me to follow while here including a mix of private and group lessons. The studio has an exciting vibe, the staff are enthusiastic and I learned more than I expected. I also saw a few wedding couples successfully learn their special dance as well. Best of all it was fun! Highly recommended.

The classes were good fun. Gerald has a wonderful sense of humour and he made all of us feel very comfortable. The constant mixing of dance partners resulted in a good learning experience for everyone.

Neither me nor my future husband were dancers and my future husband was very hesitant, but after one class with Christifer we were sure we wanted to continue to learn. We did a 5 class package to learn our first dance and had a lot of fun and were able to de stress from wedding planning and other life stuff through laugher and movement. But the best part was we are confident going into our first dance that we have something solid.Bonus - practice days are a great date night.Would highly recommend if you are at all considering doing dance lessons to go here, we will definitely be back!

My partner and I looked at a number of dance studios before deciding to take lessons with George and Wendy for a first dance routine, and have been very happy with our choice. Though neither of us had ever tried ballroom dancing or anything like it before, George and Wendy walked us through the basics of form and movement and gradually built on the skills from each prior lesson. They were always attentive to areas of potential anxiety or discomfort. If any given step in our routine didn’t feel quite right, we had ample opportunity to consider how we might modify it. George and Wendy alerted us to questions we hadn’t thought to ask but which proved vital to putting together a first dance that we felt confident in and that our family and friends would be able to enjoy: where would the audience be situated relative to the dance floor, what would the dimensions of the dance floor be, and what constraints might our outfits for the evening pose to our mobility. Having taken all these questions into account made for a first dance routine that was well-suited to the occasion on every possible front. It fit the floor well, could be seen from guests sitting at each angle, and could be easily performed in outfits that didn’t allow for sweeping steps across the dance floor. In short, it has been an absolute pleasure to work with George and Wendy, and we’d be keen to do so again. :)

Susana is a wonderful teacher that I would recommend to anyone, beginners or advanced dancers. She cares about students, explains dance movements in detail and make the lesson fun. What else we can wish for. Come in and try - you will have lots of fun. She is terrific to learn from.
