Kishimoto Japanese Restaurant
Local sashimi dish had beautiful presentation but somewhat overpriced. However, their kitchen dishes were phenomenal and hard to be found from other casual Japanese restaurant in Vancouver. Sous-vide Duck soba and Black code misozuke are highly recommended

Kishimoto Japanese Restaurant
Fantastic little Japanese restaurant in Vancouver. Reminded me a lot of our days in Kyoto. The sashimi was fresh and delicious. My daughter loved her Unagi bowl, given that she's very picky. The Mushroom Agedashi Tofu was the best that I have ever had. Highly recommended. We will definitely come back.

Kaiseki Yu-zen Hashimoto Restaurant
I was browsing for a unique dining experiences to take my wife for her birthday. A friend of mine suggest me to check out Kaiseki Yu-zen Hashimoto Restaurant. This is one of the five Japanese restaurant in Toronto that received a Michelin Star. The reviews was very positive, five stars. The entrance is reminiscent of a Japanese garden, with red torii gates and a beautiful water feature. The room feels like you are sitting in a old Japanese house, complete with tatami mats. All the food was beautifully presented, with a focus on autumn flavours, such as persimmon and gingko nuts. The service was similar to a Japanese tea ceremony, with every moment slow and precise. It was very Zen!It was a wonderful experience. We feel like we were transported to Japan. The service was excellent and the dish presentation is unique and amazing! If you enjoy my foodie review add me on instagram @eatsomethingnewwithvictorIf you interested in this experience, I would recommand googling what Kaiseki is because this is more about the experience and it not like any  omakase.

Aburi Hana
The autumn menu was a 12-course masterpiece. I highly recommend Aburi Hana to celebrate any special occasion! My favourites were the Sea Urchin & A5 Wagyu Beef. During the dinner, you'll experience various flavours and textures all throughout Japan. Expect to stay 2.5 hours to enjoy your meal. While we didn't order sake, the Sake director recommended us different refreshers to go along with the meal and they were SO delicious. The staff at Aburi Hana were kind, attentive, and welcoming. Once you leave, you'll still find yourself thinking about all the amazing things you ate even days after the dinner. Big thanks to the Aburi Hana team for an unforgettable dining experience!

Aburi Hana
I've been to other Kaiseki (and Omakase style) restaurants in Toronto and this one is my favourite. Aburi Hana offers a unique fine dining experience in an intimate setting (Note: we were in a private dining room, not the chef's counter.) Each course (and sake pairing) was explained to us in great detail. Each dish was exceptional. So too was the service. Our private room set the stage for a romantic evening. A knock on the door preceded the serving of each course (I lost count of how many courses after my 6th pairing of sake.) The sake is served in hand blown stemware that is as light as a feather. Truly unique, much like Aburi Hana. Highly recommended, especially for special occasions! :)

Kishimoto Japanese Restaurant
My visit to this sushi place was an absolute nightmare. The exorbitant prices and appalling customer service left me thoroughly disappointed. The staff showed no interest in assisting customers, making me feel like an inconvenience. The sushi itself was lackluster and failed to justify the high costs. Save your time and money by avoiding this establishment with its overpriced menu and abysmal service.

Kaiseki Yu-zen Hashimoto Restaurant
Truly an experience where you’re transported outside of Toronto and into a traditional Kaiseki in Japan. From the moment you walk to the front of the restaurant the cherry blossoms outside the building bloom (as i went in late April. Just as they were blooming). There’s a magnificent entrance and walk to your dining room. As for the meal. The flavors slowly build up as the night goes on, each dish adding a bit more complexity than the last. From the food to the impeccable service, it’s an experience you will never forget. Amazing memories.

This place only opens in the evening. We came around 5:40pm and was told the waiting time would be around 1hr. The wait was worth it tho.We ordered 2 kinds of oshi which were incredibly delicious but a bit smaller than I expected. Nonetheless, the flavour in each bite were amazing. The veggie okonomiyaki was surprisingly good even if it's filled with just onions, cabbages and mushrooms. Looks can be deceiving so don't judge this okonomiyaki till you try it.
