Mountainview Cottage rental
We just spent a week at Mountainview chalet and really loved out stay. The property is quiet and private and well located. It is close to Calabogie Peaks and also the beach is right there (2 min drive). The whole chalet is well set up and well equipped with everything you'd need in a kitchen. It has laundry facilities in the chalet itself and has a front balcony, a screened porch and also a screened gazebo on the property. The TV and internet service was excellent and there is a selection of DVD and VHS movies as well. There is a wood burning fireplace and wood stacked outside is provided. The chalet is on a deep well so the water is clean to drink and cook with. The owner provides a water machine for use in the provided coffee makers (one perk and one Keurig). There is a nearly new bbq w/2 tanks on hand for bbqing. Bbq tools are in the chalet as well.If you forget anything, be sure to visit Charbonneau's Convenience store in town. There is also a General Store on the 508 as you come into Calaobogie that sells household items and snacks. If you would like a really nice place to eat, or simply have a great coffee, visit Neat Café in nearby Burnstown - their pizzas are divine!Be advised (and it clearly states it on their website), that you must bring bedsheets and pillow cases and towels. There are pillows and bedspreads on the beds, but for simplicity sake, you bring your own sheets and towels. There are some towels onsite as well. Finally, it is important to remember, that unlike a hotel room where you simply leave the mess to others to clean up, here at the chalet, the renters must return the unit to the state it was in before arriving - cleaned. It's important to know simply since you'll need to account for this before you check out.

Smith Lake Farm
A disc golfer's paradise, Smith Lake Farm offers long drives, technical lines, and spectacular surroundings. The owners are lovely and happy to show you around the place, and their ask of purchasing a product from the farmstall (as opposed to paying a green fee) is a great way to spend $20. I recommend getting the home made honey.

Riaz Afghan Caterer
I don't even know what to start with. I have no idea how people describe the owner, Riaz, as someone friendly. I experienced nothing except rudeness and arrogance in the way he talked. He has no manners whatsoever!!! I don't really care how good his food is - not ordering from him!!! Period!!! Riaz needs to take a course in customer service, for sure!!!

Whispering Pines Equine Farm Inc
Hands down an event that was well needed! From beginning to end my friends and family couldn't of been more excited for all of it! The horses were amazing and so approachable! I felt such a spiritual connection along with an amazing sleep in the wooden smelling brand new cabins on site. Of course I can't forge the hospitality with the food!! Every meal was fresh and delicious for our whole stay! If you are looking for a getaway that is in Ontario, you won't want to miss this one!

Coach House on the Cove
The Coach House is a spacious one bedroom cottage on the water and a dreamy getaway. Jane & Dennis, the hosts, are accommodating and very helpful with suggestions for visitors. They couldn't have been more welcoming! The kitchen is very well-equipped andwell maintained. The bed is really comfortable, and even square inch of the cottage is immaculate. Right off the dock or at water's edge are perfect places to launch paddle boards or kayaks. A choice of two decks offers views of beautiful sunsets. We definitely recommend this wonderful piece of paradise!

Humphry Inn & Suites, Downtown Winnipeg
This hotel has the worst parking! You are required to pay $12/day for 1 vehicle and an additional $15/day for the 2nd vehicle. Once the lot is full behind hotel, you must park across the busy street in overflow. If that becomes full, you must drive behind the hotel in a back parking alley and pay an additional $6 (which they do reimburse that $6). This hotel is NOT worth staying at and we will NEVER book here again. Very dissatisfied customer.

Risposta Bistro
We hosted my bridal shower here in June 2023 and it was perfect. Patrick and Dmitry were wonderful to work with - anything we wanted, they made it happen. The quality of the food was impeccable. From the homemade pasta to the arugula salad picked fresh from the garden that morning, they truly put so much thought and detail into each dish. All of my guests could not stop raving about the food. The service was also fantastic - we had tons of staff helping ensure the day went smoothly. The private space was beautiful. The team even added decorative touches that complemented my theme. I highly recommend Risposta for any event. After my experience with them, I couldn’t imagine doing an event anywhere else!

Penney's Vacation Home
I can't say enough good things about this place and the hosts, Joan and Max.The place is in a beautiful setting overlooking the ocean. 'Nan's house', where we stayed, is well renovated inside with the upstairs floor kept as it was as a reminder of the 'good old days'. When it got a bit hot inside we opened the patio door to let a sea breeze blow thru(no shortage of fresh air in these parts!!).Joan and max went the extra mile and saved our bacon by sorting out the confusion over the ferries. Without them we would have missed our day trip to Change I. because the place to line up for it was quite poorly marked. They got the boat crew to wait until they went back and fetched us from the wrong line-up!! Beat that for service! Then, that evening, Joan pointed out that the next morning's ferry left at 10 AM, not 11 as the printed schedule said, and made several phone calls to confirm. We will be recommending this place to any friends and family who are thinking of going to Fogo. e likewise recommend it to you. Who needs a big fancy hotel when you can stay at Penney's place?

Wild Coast Wilderness Resort's Creekside Cottages
The Creekside (Cottonwood) cottage is spacious and bright. Very comfortable. As there is little to do in the evenings it would be nice to have a better cable package. Very quiet at night, but construction behind the property made it unbearable to be there in the daytime, and management did not respond to my concerns about the noise. Hopefully that construction will be over soon. Bring a portable grill and plenty of your own groceries, as many businesses in town are closed because of staffing issues and the local store has almost nothing. Also bring your own utensils and cooking surface as the cottage does not have this. Although the cottage does not have a view it is super close to the wharf and the pub. We took our chairs out to the roadside to chat with whoever happened to be there and just watch people. Overall a nice stay, but I'd book the cottages by the wharf next time.
