Sailing event area

A member invited us over for a cruise, cocktails and appetizers. It was our first chance to tour the new club house! Exactly what one would expect from one of the most extraordinarily competitive sailing clubs in the states: sleek, functional, well tuned and very inviting. Unfortunately, there are no social memberships offered but YCA reciprocity is recognized.

My heart belongs to Saysutshun! It is a place of mystery, history, education, fun, relaxation, healing and growth. I spend most of my summers camping, hanging out, riding the trails and boating and kayaking and Paddleboarding and canoeing here. The food at the little restaurant is amazing and the hall is available to rent for dances and weddings and parties. What a wonderful escape 8 minutes from downtown Nanaimo!

Private club with mostly sail boats. Beautiful location. It's where Niagara river meets lake Ontario.

My husband and I had the best private full day sail with Captain Gordon! The weather was perfect, we saw many birds and learned the basics of sailing. Gordon was knowledgeable about the history and current events of the area. We took our own picnic and the Captain had his so but all shared. We had the best experience and could not recommend this Richmond Adventure more!

Robyn and Anton were just wonderful! Great sailing experience with my 18 month old granddaughter. Anton was very knowledgeable and we felt very safe. Robyn as a first mate and the hostess was very friendly, very kind and absolutely lovely. We will definitely be back. Thank you both!

Easy to find. Delightful Captain who was very accommodating. Enjoyed learning to sail as well as the gorgeous scenery. Very knowledgeable about sailing as well as the area.

The renovation came out really well. The building looks great. The food was suburb (best burger I've had in a while) and the service was great too.

We were given this tour as a gift. We were somewhat reluctant to go and weren't sure what to expect. When we finally went, we were more than pleasantly surprised.Gordon Kerr is a pleasant, knowledgeable, fun sailor. He took us out after giving us some safety instructions. Shortly after setting sail he offered us an opportunity to steer. I thought I would try :) It's harder than it looks. I learned a number of terms, including unintended tack (there were a few of those) and got to feel the wind and get a sense of what is involved in sailing.Our cruise was much smoother once Gord took the helm. He was able to recover my Tilley hat that blew into the water by circling around a few times. I appreciate that.We stopped for a snack of homemade kale chips, homemade salsa and chips an some tea and water. All delicious.Back on shore after about 3 hours. We really enjoyed our tour and recommend this if you are in the area.
