I first met Dino (Owner and chief mechanic) in the early 1990's based on the recommendation of a neighbour. My Mazda MPV was a lemon. I was on my 4th or 5th alternator in under 100K and also my aluminum climate control tubing under the van was gonna cost me $600 (dealer quote.) Dino fixed the tubing for under $400 and showed me how salt corrosion was the culprit. He also showed me the design flaw of the alternator (the housing bracket filled with water on rainy days and shorted out the contacts - literally melting the unit.) He did some modifications to the housing and it never happened again. Since then we have serviced multiple vehicles with Dino and his guys for 30 years, now! He is honest, fair and never once has tried to pad a bill or service something necessary - practices that are all-too-common with many establishments. (Example: I took my Dodge Caravan to Dino because the dealer said I needed new shocks for $1,200 because the ones I had were leaking"...Dino looked at them and laughed out loud. Frank is a very Awesone mechanic. He tells you exactly what is wrong with your vehicle and do not push you to get things that are not necessary. His prices are reasonable and he makes you feel as if you are family.

Took my car to New Safety to fix an issue I had been experiencing with my car for over a year. Spent few hundred dollars and countless visits with my former mechanic and the issue was on going.When I took it into New Safety, Terry immediately came with me to do a test drive to identify the issue. Once we got back to the garage, they identified the break issue I was having and showed me what was causing the problem. They also presented me with the several options and let me decide for myself. They were honest and very knowledgeable and not pushy at all. They did an excellent job fixing the breaks, calipers & rotors - the car finally doesn't make noise or feel heavy when breaking.I knew going in this would be expensive but their price was very fair for a job of this caliber. Most of all they got the job done perfectly.Also its worth mentioning:- Excellent customer service - very friendly and kind.- Time: My appointment was at 11 am and didn't have to wait around. They were on time! Also they got the job done very fast and finished it in the time they said they would.- Going the extra mile. Told me things I will need to watch out for with my car and when I should consider addressing them.

We bought six sets of winter tires from Alex at Ninaco and were super impressed. Came in with an engine light on. Engine light was fixed but they told me I had to change a transmission module, which would cost me upwards of $1,200.00. I decided to get a second opinion somewhere else nearby and nothing was wrong with my car. Have been riding it for 6 months now without issues. Decided to wait before making this review to be 100% sure it was a scam.There are several other auto shops in this area, do not waste your time (and money) going to this place. Also, not very good customer service.

Highly recommend! Honest, reliable, and fantastic customer service. I purchased a vehicle in 2017 from Shannon Motors. Steven went out of his way to get me financing through my bank, and out the door in a new reliable vehicle with a great price, low km, and warranty still in place. His lovely wife then went out of her way to follow me back to Nanaimo in my old vehicle to save time and the hassle of getting it home. They truly made, and still make me feel like part of their family.Jess runs the service and then some. She has always gone above and beyond, always smiling and helpful. I was sad to hear she was moving a couple years back, but much to my delight, she has returned and is still providing top notch service!I intend on purchasing and servicing all my vehicles through Shannon Motors until they retire. Trust is huge when it comes to vehicle purchases and repair, and I trust these guys 100%.
